Goddard and Raihl among top Class B-C wrestlers in state
Two members of the Absarokee-Columbus wrestling team have been performing well this season. So well, in fact, they are ranked in the top Class B-C wrestlers state-wide.
Senior Connor Goddard is ranked in the top six for the 145-pound weight class, and junior Dylan Raihl is among the top six in the state for the 152-pound class.
Head Coach Mike Moodry said it is great that both boys’ accomplishments are being acknowledged by coaches around Montana. It’s important to stay focused, though, because the only poll that matters will take place at the all-class state wrestling tournament at the Metra in Billings, he was quick to point out.
January is the last month of the regular season for high school wrestling – both the divisional and state tournaments will be held at the beginning of February.
Wrestling fans will have the opportunity to watch Goddard, Raihl, and the rest of the Couguskie team in action at home this week.
On Friday, Jan. 5, the Columbus Mixer will begin in the Columbus High School gym at 5 p.m. The Columbus Invite will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6.
