Renegade boys win in overtime, girls fall to Warriors, Engineers
The Reed Point-Rapelje Renegades traveled to Pryor to play the Warriors.
In a fast paced game, RPR was down 10 at the end of the first quarter, but came back and added 19 points in the second quarter. That left the Renegades still trailing the Warriors by 20 points. The second half was much of the same as the Warriors added 47 points to their score to the Renegades 36 giving the Warriors a 92-61 win.
Senior Cade Bare led with 15 points, followed by freshman Derek Peterson with 12 and freshman Dylan Blodgett with 10.
On Saturday the Renegades traveled to Harlowton for the final game of 2014. In a close first quarter the Renegades trailed by one point. RPR held the Engineers to just two points in the second quarter taking an 18-11 lead at half-time. The Engineers came out strong in the third quarter holding the Renegades to just one point while adding 11 points of their own and taking the lead in the game. RPR led by three points in the final seconds of the game when the Engineers hit a shot as the buzzer went off sending the game into overtime. In overtime RPR made key free throws in the final minutes to give them the two point win over the Engineers.
Bare posted 22 points in the win.
RPR will host Custer/Hysham in Reed Point on Jan. 2 and travel to Fromberg on Jan. 3.
