Husky spikers overpower Robert

Absarokee defeated Roberts in just three sets in a conference volleyball match in Roberts on Thursday, Sept. 3.
The Huskies overwhelmed the young Rockets team 25-13, 25-6, 25-10, with 57 kills, 9 aces, 97 assists and 65 digs.
“Roberts did have a pretty small and young team, but no matter who you’re playing, you go out and give 110 percent,” Husky coach Tonya Steffenson said. “And that’s exactly what the Huskies did, giving us an opportunity to get the supporting staff in off the bench.”
Senior Maisey Shepherd had 13 aces and 15 digs for Absarokee, while senior Emma Chandler had 17 kills, senior Colleen Culbertson had 24 assists, and junior Erin Campbell had 15 digs.
“While the entire team did an excellent job, Maisey Sheppard proved to be a force when stepping back to serve,” Steffenson said.
For the Rockets, Brittany Prinkki, the team’s lone senior, had one kill and two blocks.The Roberts roster includes two eighth-graders and two freshmen.
Absarokee’s home game with Plenty Coups on Saturday has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. The Huskies play Park City on Thursday, Sept.10, at home and then travel to Fromberg on Friday, Sept. 11.
