Griffel and Walston lead wrestlers at state

The Columbus/Absarokee wrestling team finished the season in 16th place at the Class B/C Tournament this past weekend at Metra Park.
Seniors Will Griffel (4th at 182) and Eli Walston (5th at 126) were able to get on the podium. Griffel started the tournament with an upset of the number one seed from the east and Walston was the only Couguskies to make it to the semifinals.
In that semifinal, Walston was down 13-0 early in the second period, only stage an enormous comeback losing 13-14.
Two other wrestlers, Robbie Coleman (132) and Billy Raville (152) made it to Saturday and were one match from gaining all-state honors. The final representative was Nate Goddard (113) went 0-2 in the tournament, but gained valuable experience.
