Columbus/Absarokee grapplers start season strong at Belgrade

The Columbus/Absarokee wrestling squad was led by senior Eli Walston (1st place at 126 pounds), freshman Nate Goddard (2nd place at 113 pounds), and sophomore Robbie Coleman (5th place at 132 pounds) at Belgrade Invitational this past weekend.
Friday was a round-robin format. Senior Walston Will Griffel (182 pounds), and junior Billy Raville (152 pounds) recorded undefeated performances. Griffel and Raville were unable to compete in Saturday’s invitational format due to previous commitments and injury.
Others recording wins this weekend were Matt Palmer (126 pounds), Michael Sherwood (132 pounds), Ben Plymale (126 pounds) and Chaze Krone (138 pounds).
This upcoming weekend the team will be in Whitehall starting Thursday. Thursday will be duals with Townsend and Whitehall beginning at 6. Friday and Saturday the team will participate in the Whitehall Dual Tournament. The team returns home next Tuesday for a mixer with Huntley Project and Livingston starting at 6 p.m. at Absarokee High School.
