Goldhahn to speak on seatbelt use Oct. 2

Next Monday, Stillwater County will have two opportunities to listen to a speaker with a message that packs quite a punch.
On Oct. 2, Pat Goldhahn, of Fairfield, will twice tell the story of his 15-year-old daughter, Lauryn, who was killed after being ejected from a vehicle during an accident slightly more than a year ago.
Goldhahn will discuss the importance of wearing a seatbelt – a simple action that his daughter decided against, leading to her death. Lauryn was an organ donor, and the talk will also facilitate conversation around the impacts of organ donation.
Lauryn’s death has led to the #BuckleUpBlue4Lauryn campaign, started in a large part by the Red Lodge volleyball team.
The first assembly will be held at 9 a.m. in the Rapelje gym. In the afternoon, Goldhahn will speak in the Columbus gym at 1:15 p.m.
Schools from across the area will attend the assemblies, and community members are welcome to sit in on either of Goldhahn’s talks.
In Columbus, community members are asked to enter the school through the doors located by the gym.
