Reed Point FCCLA to send 10 students to Nashville

A lot of hardware was hauled into Stillwater County last week as students returned from the FCCLA State Leadership Conference.
Students from Reed Point, Absarokee, Park City, and Columbus, along with almost 700 students from across the state, competed in a number of events from “Food Innovation” to “Job Interview.”
The school results are below. Columbus results had not been received as of press time.

The Reed Point club, advised by Chick Brogan, recorded an extremely successful state conference, with 10 of 16 students qualifying to compete at the national competition in Nashville this summer.
The following students won their state event competition, and so have earned the privilege to continue on to the national level: Kaden Heller, in Food Innovation; Ciara Fagone, in Recycle and Redesign; Trent Ott, Tyson Ott, and Jesse Beach, in National Programs in Action; Rachel Ehinger, in Teach and Train; and Kassidee Humphreys, in Food Innovation.
Jocelyn Ott attended the Leadership Academy at the state conference and will attend Leadership Academy training at the national level.
Josie Severin and Shaylee Williams earned gold medals in Life Event Planning. They were alternates in their event, and due to the inability of another qualifying team to attend nationals, Severin and Williams will attend the national convention in Nashville, as well.
Silver medalists include: Destiny Ayers, in Chapter in Review; Hannah Beach, in National Programs in Action; Mercedes Hoff, in Career Investigation; and Mikey Davis, in Career Investigation.
Also attending the state conference were exchange student Sujin Byun and Emma Phipps, who were both event timers.

While the Absarokee group, led by advisor Carolyn Story, did not have any national qualifiers, they did bring home several medals.
Absarokee silver medalists were: Kia Pillion and Kodi Martin, in Illustrated Talk; Mikol Degele, in Job Interview; Chloe Flynn and Tana Babb, in National Programs; and Sammy Hansen, in Toys that Teach.
Summer Farmstead earned a bronze medal in Fashion Sketch. Bailey Gauthier and Caje Pillion attended the Leadership Seminar by keynote speaker, Brandon White.

Adviser Contrella Peterson and her Park City students returned with several silver medals.
Medalists include: Megan Flemmer, Arica Hedges, and Hayley Story, in Focus on Children; Claudia McDuff, in Career Investigation; and Bailey Hedges and Sydney Kluth, for their Chapter Service Project Portfolio.
Shelby Branstetter and MacKinzie Verke participated in White’s Leadership Seminar.
Sammi Roth attended the state conference as a room event timer, and Kimmie Baker took pictures with the Capture Crew.
