Columbus students conduct pajama drive

A group of first grade students from Columbus Elementary School recently conducted a pajama drive to benefit kids in the community.
The four students are part of a reading group led by teacher Laurie Martin. The group was reading a book about doing good deeds for others when they decided to do something for their community. The students came up with the idea of conducting a pajama drive.
The students asked parents and other students from school and in the community to donate new pajamas.
The students ended up collecting 100 pair of pajamas. Martin has described the project as “100 pajamas on the 100th day of school.”
The pajamas will be donated to Project Hope for the benefit of kids who need them so that they can stay cozy and warm this winter.
