Bike Rodeo Fun

More than 225 Columbus Elementary students turned out for the second annual bike rodeo put on by Columbus Police Officer and School Resource Officer Jacob Ward. Columbus Fire Rescue also played an integral role as two courses were conducted at the same time -- one in the street and one on the playground. Firemen manned the street course, teaching kids how to signal and leading them through a line of cones placed at varying distance and stopping points. Light rain fell as the kindergartners took to the course, but they didn’t seem to notice. “I got it - I’ve been riding for about 15 years” shouted one boy in response to some encouragement from the sidelines.
