Goodenough
Virginia Goodenough — “Ginny to all who knew her” — passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the age of 86, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Ginny was born in Columbus, Mont. She was raised on the Krueger Family Ranch which was homesteaded in 1917, this year being the 100th year anniversary and graduated from Columbus High School.
She moved to California, attended UC Davis for a short period then went to work at Pacific Telephone, where she met her husband, Collier “Goody” Goodenough. She and her husband spent their professional careers at Pacific Telephone, moved to Tujunga, Calif., in 1961 and retired in 1976.
She and Goody were very active in the Lions Club, as well as other organizations. She volunteered her time and service to Doberman rescue for many years and rescued numerous “Dobies” during that time.
In 2012, Ginny moved to Walnut Creek, Calif., and 2016 to Brentwood, Calif., to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.
She is predeceased by her “Goody.” She is survived by her daughter, Dianna “Dee-Dee” Hays and son-in-law Warren of Oakley, Calif.; step-son Gary Goodenough of Ketchum, Idaho; her brother Wayne Krueger of Reed Point, Mont.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and interment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif., on May 4, at 10:30 a.m. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Doberman rescue organization of your choice.
