Maretta French, 83, of Nye, Mont., passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 11, 2017, with her family by her side.
Maretta graduated from Absarokee High School before joining the work force in Billings where she retired from Consolidated Freightways. She was married to the love of her life, Ray M. French in 1953 and together they had five children.
Survivors include daughters Bobbi (Carl) Michotte and Karon (Steve) Snook; sons Doug (Sue) French, Nick (Lanette) French and Al (Terri) French; sisters, Mable (Dave) Stubbe and Cora Lee (Bud) Carlson, brother Buzz (Joyce) Stimpson, eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, granddaughter Jessi, great-grandson Christopher, four brothers and four sisters.
In lieu of flowers, it was Mom’s wish that you surround yourself with family, embracing and lifting them up, recognizing the preciousness of the moment. Memorials may be made to RiverStone Health Hospice Services (Stillwater County) or the charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life and a family gathering will be held in Mama’s honor at a later date.
