Calvert

February 18, 1987- February 24, 2017

On Feb. 24, 2017, the world abruptly said goodbye to Adam Dustin Calvert, 30, of Elko ,NV. Adam was born Feb. 18, 1987, in Bountiful, UT, the youngest of three, to Bruce and Judy Calvert. In 1995, he moved with his mom and siblings to Montana and attended school in Absarokee and Columbus. Later, he moved to Elko and spent most of his adult life between the two states.
Adam had the heart of a musician and loved the guitar. A great deal of his time was spent listening to, playing and creating music. He composed a number of songs but never committed them to paper. He also enjoyed being with his family and its lively dinners and sourdough breakfasts. Adam had a love for reading, a creative mind and was a deep thinker. He liked fast cars and motorcycles, spirited debates, and the use of proper grammar. He appreciated and cultivated good friendships, but was particular with whom he formed those bonds. He had little time for shallow acquaintances.
Adam’s untimely death leaves a ragged hole that will be very slow in mending. His absence is felt because he is, and will continue to be, loved. Adam mattered. He mattered greatly, and our hearts ache hoping he understood that. He will be greatly missed.
Adam leaves behind his mom Judy Calvert, Elko; his father Bruce Calvert, Cheyenne, WY; brother Steven (Erika) Calvert, Spring Creek, NV; sister April (Jason) Wiest, Sarasota, FL; many nieces and nephews; a number of aunts and uncles, including Joseph and Roseanna Lohof, Absarokee; and many cousins, several who were a big part of his life – Mandy, Kelly, Cameo, Carley, Christine, Charlie and CaryAnn.
A memorial service was held March 4 in Elko. Cremation has taken place and Adam’s ashes will be privately interred at a later date.
