AROUND COLUMBUS,
MONTANA 2018
Sealed bids for a chip seal
project around Columbus,
Montana, will be received
in the Stillwater County
Finance Department at the
Stillwater County Courthouse,
PO Box 795,
Columbus MT, 59019,
until 4:30 P.M. on Monday,
May 7, 2018. Bids
will be opened and read
aloud at 9:00 A.M. on
Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in
the County Commissioner’s
meeting room on the
first floor of the County
Courthouse, at 400 3rd
Avenue North, Columbus,
MT. Envelopes containing
bids will be marked
“COLUMBUS AREA
CHIP SEAL”. The chip
seal project will be at the
following five (5) locations
around Columbus: Countryman Creek Road
3 and 7/10 miles
Whitebird Creek Road
1 and 9/10 miles
Hersrud, Centennial, and
Quarry Roads 2 miles
Total Miles 7 and 6/10
miles Bids shall include
material quantities based
on seven and six tenths
(7.6) miles and twentyfour
(24) feet wide; supply
and placement of Type
1 (3/8 inch) cover material
per MDT specifications;
CRS-2P emulsion freight
Western Emulsion or
Equal and shooting; and
traffic control. Bids must
be signed, contain the
contractor’s license number
and corporate seal, if
applicable. Questions can
be answered by the Superintendent
of Roads/Bridges
for Stillwater County
by calling 406-322-5335,
between 7:00 A.M. and
5:30 P.M., Monday
through Thursday. Bids
shall be accompanied by a
bid security bond in the
amount of 10% of the
total bid. Said security
bond shall be in the form
of a money order,
cashier’s check, certified
check or bank draft. The
successful bidder shall
furnish an approved performance
bond and payment
bond, each in the
amount of one hundred
percent (100%) of the
contract. Successful bidder
will be subject to prevailing
wage rates under
the Davis/Bacon Act of
1931. Each bidder will be
required to have a Montana
Public Contractor’s
License. No bids may be
withdrawn after the scheduled
time for public opening
of bids. The County
Commissioners reserve
the right to reject any or
all bids received, to waive
bid irregularities, to postpone
the award of a contract
for a period not
exceeding sixty (60) days
and to accept the bid
which is in the best interest
of Stillwater County.
