Man dies during Mystic Lake hike

A Billings man collapsed and died during a hike to Mystic Lake Saturday afternoon.
Scott Lewis Marchant, 47, reportedly collapsed and stopped breathing sometime before 1:30 p.m., according to Stillwater County Sheriff's Dispatch records.
A 911 call came into dispatch at 1:37 p.m. from a woman who said CPR was in progress. Several hikers in the area stopped to try and save Marchant but were unsuccessful. Search and Rescue (SAR) was paged and the Absarokee fire department was also contact to provide assistance. Help Flight launched as well to see if it could find someplace to land. By 3:32 p.m. the call became a body recovery operation, according to dispatch records. SAR had cleared the scene by 9:19 p.m.
