Rocking it at the bike rodeo

Approximately 220 Columbus Elementary students took to the street last Thursday to take a whirl on a block-long Bike Rodeo course.
Bike safety, proper signaling, maintaining a lane and practice walking bikes through crosswalks were among skills highlighted.
And of course, there was what a handful of boys called “the wheelie section” in which they were allowed to let it fly, under the watch of Columbus Police Officer Jacob Ward and Kelly Mason, as well as Columbus Fire Rescue staff who were stationed throughout the course.
Each student was allowed three runs through the course.
It was the third annual Bike Rodeo orchestrated by Ward.
