United Bank selects interim president
United Bank Chairman of the Board of Directors Millard Cox has announced the appointment of Terry Lobdell as interim president of United Bank.
Former President Don Vondra died suddenly from complications after surgery while on vacation in Mexico, according to the United Bank representatives.
“We are deeply saddened by Don’s untimely passing. The entire United Bank family sends our heartfelt condolences to Don’s wonderful wife, Linda, and all of their family. Don was a close personal friend and a very good community banker. Don was the backbone of United Bank and is greatly missed,” stated Cox.
Cox emphasized the decision to fill the Presidency position as quickly as possible was part of the management succession plan that Vondra had proposed. Don and Terry had been friends and associates for almost their entire banking careers.
Lobdell was formally president of Community First Bank in Glendive, Mont., retiring after the bank was sold early last year. Lobdell has served as Chairman of the Montana Bankers Association and Chairman of the Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council (CDIC) to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
“Mr. Lobdell is a perfect fit for United Bank,” stated Cox, “he is a true Montana Community Banker who will serve our customers well. Terry will mesh well with our management team and provide the insight and stability needed during these difficult times. Mr. Lobdell is scheduled to be in Absarokee as soon as arrangements are finalized.”
The Board of Directors want to acknowledge and send a special thanks to all the United Bank officers and staff who continue to pull together and make United Bank run as smoothly as possible during this time of grief. We also want to thank all of our customers for their support and patience during this transitional period.
