They’re baaaack
It’s about to get woolie in Reed Point.
Sunday marks the 27th annual Great American Sheep Drive that traditionally draws thousands of people to the tiny 6-block town for a day of food, entertainment and the running of the sheep down Reed Point’s main street.
Sponsored by the Reed Point Community Club, the fun gets underway with a fireman’s breakfast at the fire hall from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mock gun-fights will start at 11:30 a.m. with the parade scheduled for 12:30 p.m. A live auction will take place at 1 p.m. featuring tools, gift cards, a barbecue and other items donated from businesses. The proceeds will go to the club, which is saving money to buy park land.
Also featured will be children’s rides, a petting zoo, 70 vendors offering food and crafts, a car show, a street dance in the evening and of course -- the running of hundreds of Montana bred sheep. The actual running of the sheep usually takes place around 4 p.m.
