Tech levy narrowly wins in PC

A 10-year, $200,000 technology levy to maintain educational and administrative computer equipment at Park City School was narrowly approved by voters on May 3, but a 15-year, $500,000 building reserve levy failed.
According to unofficial results, the tech levy passed in the Park City elementary district by 231-223 and passed in the high school district by 228-226. The building levy failed in the elementary district by 231-223 and failed in the high school district by 233-221.
The last technology levy ran from 2013-2015, Park City Superintendent Dan Grabowska said. The main purpose of the building reserve levy is to address problems with an aging Mediterranean-style clay-tile roof with relatively little pitch, Grabowska said.
Grabowska expressed his disappointment with the election results.
“We can get computers, but we’ll have a leaky roof,” he said.
The impact of the tech levy on a home with a market value of $100,000 will be a $3.46 per year increase for the elementary district and $3.48 for the high school district.

Noe, Kirch win fire board election
Voters in the Absarokee fire district area chose incumbents John Noe and Bob Kirch in a three-way race for two seats on the Absarokee Fire Board. The unofficial results from the Stillwater County Election Department for the May 3 election were Noe 428, Kirch 340 and Charles Parker 247.
Parker tallied the most votes in the Nye area but fared poorly in the Fishtail and Absarokee areas. Noe and Kirch were neck and neck in Fishtail, but Noe had strong support in the Absarokee area.
