Nye man killed in Saturday morning crash

A Nye man was killed Saturday morning when he rolled his vehicle on Nye Road and was ejected.
Virgil Paul ONeil, 74, was found by a passing motorist Saturday at 10 a.m. on Nye Road, unresponsive. The motorist called 911 which brought deputies, Montana Highway Patrol, Absarokee fire and Columbus Fire Rescue to the scene.
MHP Trooper Chan Barry said ONeil was heading east when he left the road, turned right, crossed back over the highway, then left the road on the right side, rolling his 1969 Pontiac. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Help Flight was launched and ONeil was taken to the Stillwater Billings Clinic, where the coroner was summoned later. He lived on Limestone Road, according to Stillwater County Sheriff’s dispatch records.
