Monday morning fatality

An early Monday morning crash on I-90 near Columbus claimed the life of an Idaho woman and injured her husband and son.
Kathleen B. Striffler and her son Glenn Striffler were both ejected from the SUV in which they were riding when Henry Striffler fell asleep at the wheel at approximately 2:42 a.m. in the westbound lane of I-90 at mile marker 416, according to Stillwater County Sheriff’s Office dispatch records.
Kathleen Striffler, a 53-year-old from Rexburg, Idaho, was killed when the SUV rolled several times and came to rest on top of her, said Stillwater County Coroner Terry Nystul. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
Also ejected from the vehicle was the couple’s son Glenn Striffler, who suffered serious injuries and was first taken to the Stillwater Billings Clinic then flown via Help Flight to a Billings hospital. His age was not available. Henry Striffler, 68, suffered minor injuries and was held overnight at the Stillwater Billings Clinic.
The crash reported by two different 911 callers. The first caller described what he said were “vehicle pieces all over the area” and one man walking in the area, according to dispatch records. At 3 a.m. a second 911 caller reported the occupants were injured, one very badly. Columbus Fire Rescue was paged at that point and arrived on scene at 3:07 a.m. or 3:16 a.m.
At 3:10, one of the 911 callers reported the mother, Kathleen Striffler, was underneath the vehicle and apparently deceased.
MHP arrived on scene at 3:25 a.m. Columbus Fire Rescue left with the two men at 3:41 a.m. The coroner was summoned at 3:41 a.m.
