A team from last year's event.

It’s fair time!

For more than 200 Stillwater County 4-Hers, this Sunday marks the start of something they have been working towards for an entire year.
The 88th annual Stillwater County 4-H fair gets officially underway at Keyser Creek Arena with the 9 a.m. Horse/Mini Horse Show.
Following that will be a week-long competition in 24 categories, ranging from animals to environmental and natural sciences to rocket science to leadership and personal development. There are also three categories open to the public – canned goods, photography and quilting.
In all, the kids, who represent 11 different clubs, will exhibit a total of 1,171 projects, said Montana State University Extension Agent Lisa Terry.
Also taking part are Columbus, Stillwater Valley and Park Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapters.
The big draw event will likely be the Stillwater 4-H Exchange Pig Wrestling contest, which will take place Friday, July 22, at 6 p.m. A total of 57 teams took part last year.
Teams are being sought now for three classifications:
•PeeWee (4 to 8-years-old)
•Intermediate 9 to 15-years-old)
•Men/Mixed 16 and up
•Women 16 up
The fee to see the epic event is $3 for adults, $2 for kids 12 and up and $1 for kids under 12.
