Incumbents retain council seats

The incumbents were the winners in this year’s Columbus municipal election, including Danen Johannes, who was appointed to the town council on July 6.
Three of the six 4-year seats on the Columbus Town Council were up for re-election this year, one from each ward. Ward 1 includes properties east of North Fifth Street, Ward 3 is west of A Street, and Ward 2 lies in between.
According to unofficial results from the Stillwater County Election Department, out of 789 possible voters, 361 votes were cast for a 48 percent turnout.
