Peterson

Melvin P. (Mel) Peterson of White Sulphur Springs, Mont., passed away Aug. 20, 2017, after a prolonged illness.
The son of Melvin and Doris (Roobol) Peterson, he was born April 29, 1934, on his grandparents’ ranch north of Reed Point, Mont.
He is survived by his wife Louise (Joyce) Peterson of White Sulphur Springs, Mont.; daughter Barbara A. Peterson of Edmonds, Wash.; sister Mary Hamel of Absarokee, Mont.; aunt Ellen Daley of Bozeman, Mont.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was a member of Mountain View Community Church, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a 28-year member of the American Legion. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, as well as in numerous other assignments in Europe.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place.
