Anderson

Sept. 28, 1958 — Oct. 23, 2017

Michael Edwin Anderson, 59, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at the University Medical Center in Denver, Colo., following a hard-fought battle with a long-term illness.
Mike was preceded in death by his loving wife Barbra (Lee) Anderson on Jan. 10, 2015.
Mike was born Sept. 28, 1958, to Edwin and Mabel (Kujala) Anderson in Billings. Mike grew up in Billings in the home of Rodger and Mabel Logan until joining the Air Force in 1977. After almost 10 years in the Air Force, Mike met Barbra in New York and they were married on May 6, 1990. After they were married, Mike and Barbra moved to Montana where they spent the first few years living in Billings before moving to their home (the Depot) in Clinton, Montana. After Barbra passed, Mike spent the last few years in Absarokee, Mont., living closer to family.
Mike spent the better part of his life installing and maintaining phone, security and satellite systems all over the state of Montana until he couldn’t continue due to his illness. He loved to hunt and fish, but sometimes felt great comfort sitting by the stream, with a blanket and a good book watching Barb reel them in. Mike loved hot rods and fast cars, and was in the process of restoring his pride and joy el Camino at the time of his passing. He loved his hound dog Flash and had the pleasure of enjoying some of the best home cooked meals around prepared by his wife Barbra. They both loved their home in Clinton, the Depot, and enjoyed the history of the home once being the old Milwaukee Train Depot. Mike set a strong example on how have courage and strength and fight through a long-term illness and still enjoy the simple things in life. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Mike is survived by his step-father Rodger Logan of Billings; brothers Mitch Anderson of Billings, Dave and Susan Anderson of Absarokee, Chris and Janice Sorenson of Absarokee and Brad and Sharon Logan of Red Lodge; sisters Tanya and Nick Oderman of Absarokee, Theresa and Gene Maestas of Laurel and Julie Logan of Billings; his nieces Michelle, Erica, Felicia, Cortney, Angela, Shayla, Alexa, and Laci; and nephews Nicholas, Tyler, Dustin, and Forrest.
Mike was preceded in death by his loving wife Barbra and his parents Edwin Anderson and Mabel Logan.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at the Joliet Cemetery in Joliet. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Joliet Community Center.
