Thank you to all who attended National Day of Prayer event

I wish to express my gratitude for all who came and participated in the National Day of Prayer this year. Your support means a lot and the prayers of everyone are vital for each elected official.
They strive to serve the people and we need to back them with our prayers. It is a difficult job we ask them to do on our behalf.
A joint resolution entitled “Joint Resolution to provide for setting aside an appropriate day as a National Day of Prayer” was approved April 7, 1952. A public law amendment set the day as the first Thursday in May each year to observe this special time. Cheryl McClintock first brought it to our community when God laid it upon her heart. Each year you help to make this a successful event which could not be without your assistance.
I am ever thankful for the help of each and every one who participate. I especially thank the Stillwater News for their coverage each year. For those that could not be there but are faithfully praying, the prayers are being heard.
I encourage each of you to never give up remembering these officials daily as we pray for our federal, state, city and county. We can make a difference. Our nation is truly in crisis and each person makes a difference. Thank you also to those who were unable to be with us but are praying.
