Four-person defense team in homicide case “disheartening”
It’s pretty disheartening to read an article like I did in the Gazette, Oct. 30, 2015, “Death penalty specialist appointed in case.”
This piece of work “Jesus Yeizon Deniz Mendosa” snuffs out the lives or I should say allegedly snuffs out the lives of a man and wife, also wounding their daughter after they stop as good Samaritans to give this guy some road side assistance.
He is appointed a special defense lawyer out of Colorado at a cost of $181 per hour plus three more appointed federal defense attorneys, I’m guessing at a cost of $150 per hour each, which adds up to $631 an hour.
As you know some of these federal cases go on for months and months, sometimes years. If Mendosa does not get the death penalty the tax payers will not only pay for his four-member defense team but also feed and clothe him for the next 50 years.
A lot of tax payer dollars are spent trying to save these creeps.
